bpmNEXT 2015 – Save the Date

Save the date – Monday March 30 through Wednesday April 1 – for bpmNEXT 2015.  We’re moving to an exciting new location this year, the Canary Hotel in beautiful Santa Barbara.   This will be the third time for what has become the BPM industry’s premier insider event, showcasing the next generation of process innovation technology.  As always, you’ll get to see the latest in technology related to BPM, Adaptive Case Management, Operational Analytics, and Decision Management, presented by the folks that actually built it.  In 2015, our unique fast-paced, no-nonsense, demo-centric format will be getting even more so!   And we’re adding a special session at the beginning on industry issues of interest to vendors and consultants.

After two great years at the Asilomar in Monterey, we decided this year to move to an equally beautiful spot on the California Central Coast, one with more hotel amenities and nearby nightlife.  The Canary Hotel is right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, walking distance to fabulous State Street shopping, restaurants, and the waterfront.  Social interaction remains key to the bpmNEXT experience, so once again we’ll take most of our meals together on the Canary’s rooftop patio. Last year, our post-conference Carmel Valley wine tour and dinner was so successful that we are planning a similar event within the conference itself.

Ignite

One of the things that sets bpmNEXT apart is the presentation format: a 20-minute live demonstration of something truly new and different, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A, time limit strictly enforced.  Slideware is not accepted, and we try very hard to vet the presentations before the event.  Still, some presenters manage to sneak in a bit too much Powerpoint, and we heard your thoughts about that in the evaluations.  So we’re doing something even more radical this year: Ignite!  Ignite is a presentation format in which the presenter speaks while the slides advance automatically. An Ignite presentation is exactly 5 minutes, and contains exactly 20 slides. Slides advance automatically every 15 seconds.  You can read about it here (and here and here).  Thanks to Sandy Kemsley for the tip!

The Business of BPM

While the main event at bpmNEXT is still the technology of process innovation, we are going to kick things off with a half-day program focused on The Business of BPM, aimed at technology vendors, service providers, and consultants.  We are still working on the agenda, but topics such as Funding Process Innovation, Developing the BPM Ecosystem, and a BPM Market Update are typical of the things we have in mind.  Have your own program suggestion?  Contact us!
